Director / Teacher    

 
Ascension Lutheran preschool’s Early Childhood Education Director has a Bachelors degree in Education from Winona State University.  She is also trained in the Orton-Gillingham method to instruct children in reading.  She has 19 years of diverse teaching experiences including working with special needs children and 9 years as Director and Teacher of Ascension Lutheran Preschool.

Jennifer and her husband have two daughters, and they have been members of Ascension Lutheran church for 10 years.  Jennifer has volunteered as Sunday School teacher, "Jesus and Me" Bible story presenter, Vacation Bible School teacher and Nursery coordinator and attendant.

 
Jennifer’s professional career and personal life has been dedicated to serving children through God’s word.

 Mrs. Tamara Melott 

Mrs. Tamara Melott is the lead teacher in Ascension's 5-day Pre-K classroom.  She has a degree in Christian Elementary Education from Martin Luther College, New Ulm, MN.  Her teaching experience includes 9 years teaching 3rd grade, 4 years working with 3 year olds in a daycare, 5 years teaching 1st grade and 2 years assisting Mrs. Tripp in the Preschool and Pre-K programs.  She also helps direct the Kid's Summer Camp program at Ascension.

Mrs. Melott also enjoys helping with Vacation Bible School, Easter for Kids and Sunday School all of which give her another opportunity to share God's Word with young children.

Tammy and her husband Mike have two daughters and one son.  They are members of Salem Lutheran Church in Loretto, MN and they reside in Rockford, MN.
